CHARITY BEARD: Growing Funds | Community Spirit
You may have heard of “Movember” but one school in Fort Dodge has gone one further.
Students at St. Edmond School were initially challenged to raise $600 in aid of the Beacon of Hope Men's Homeless Shelter in Fort Dodge. In return, the male teachers would spend the month growing their entire beards.
30 days later, while the teachers that took part may look a little more disheveled, the students are celebrating. Over $1,140 was raised.
The Fort Dodge Press quotes one teacher remarking, "It has been nice in the morning to not have to worry about shaving.” A win-win situation all round it seems.
