ATTEMPTED MURDER: Ex-Husband Charged | Crime

Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department are investigating an attempted murder that took place in Fort Dodge Saturday morning.
According to a release, officers were called to 339 Loomis Avenue around 6:29am Saturday morning in reference to a female assault victim.
Officers discovered Jolene Crawford, 39, unconscious in her bedroom. Crawford was transported to Trinity Regional Medical Center and treated for blunt force trauma to her head, and was later flown to a hospital in Des Moines where she underwent surgery. At press time, Crawford was listed in critical condition.
Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody said in a press release that Larry Darnell Crawford, 43, was arrested shortly later and charged with Attempted Murder, a class B felony. Crawford is currently being held in the Webster County Jail on a one-million dollar cash bond.
Carmody said, “At this early point in the investigation officers and investigators continue to process evidence, interview witnesses and search for additional information.”
