An event in Fort Dodge this weekend is being held to help raise awareness for breast cancer and raise funds for patients.
The Angel Ride first started a few years ago. Around 200 people took part and about $2,000 was raised.
The event has grown since then, last year it raised $34,000.
It started out as a motorcycle ride, but organizers say cars, buses and even bicycles are welcome to participate.
This year’s Angel Ride kicks off Saturday morning at Amigo’s restaurant in Fort Dodge. All of the proceeds from the ride go to Trinity Regional Oncology, to help patients with uninsured expenses.
“Wigs, scarves, travel expenses, also helps pay for gas and light bills, things that people can’t afford when they’re going through their treatment,” says organizer Linda Lowrey.
Sign up for the ride is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. It costs $15 per person to participate.
